Conflict of Interest
The journal considers it important to ensure objectivity and transparency in the publication process, which is why it implements a comprehensive conflict of interest policy. This includes defining conflict of interest, the procedure for declaring them by authors, reviewers, and editors, as well as the algorithm for resolving such conflict. The resolution process involves recusal of the editor or reviewer, appointing an independent responsible editor, and documenting the grounds and decisions made.
Conflict of Interest Declaration by Authors
Authors must disclose any potential conflict of interest during the submission of their article, which may include both financial (e.g., employment, fees, involvement in companies or patent authorship) and non-financial (personal relationships, academic competition, ideological or religious beliefs) interests. All conflict must be clearly stated so that readers can assess whether the authors might be biased and how this could affect the content of the work. At the end of the article, a “Conflict of Interest” statement will be included, or “None” if no conflict exists.
Conflict of Interest Declaration by Reviewers
Reviewers must immediately inform the editorial board of any conflict of interest that might hinder their ability to objectively assess the manuscript. This includes financial or personal ties to the author or organisation, as well as situations where there is direct competition between the reviewer's research and the article under review. In such cases, the reviewer is required to decline the review of the article.
Conflict of Interest Declaration by Editors
Editors must disclose any potential conflict of interest that might affect their objectivity when making decisions about articles. An editor must recuse themselves from handling articles if they have financial, personal, academic, or other ties with the author or organisation that could create a conflict of interest, or if the editor is a co-author of the article or works at the same institution. In these instances, the editor should pass the article to another editor or involve an independent expert for review.
Conflict of Interest Resolution Process
The journal guarantees maximum transparency in the process of disclosing conflict of interest. All participants in the publication process – authors, reviewers, and editors – must strictly adhere to this policy, ensuring the integrity and objectivity of scientific communication. Documentation regarding conflict of interest and decisions will be maintained to support the transparency of the publication process.
