Anti-plagiarism Policy
The editorial board of the journal “Innovation and Sustainability” emphasises that authors bear full responsibility for the correct citation and use of other individuals’ research results, as well as for adhering to the ethics of scientific citation. Only original materials that have not been previously published in other publications are accepted for publication.
Authors’ Obligations
Authors must guarantee:
- the originality of the submitted articles, meaning materials that have not been previously published in any publications or in any language;
- the absence of plagiarism;
- correct referencing of sources when using works or texts of third parties.
Detection of Plagiarism
The journal “Innovation and Sustainability” uses software to detect textual plagiarism in submitted manuscripts. The iThenticate system is used to check documents for plagiarism in both local databases and the internet. The generated report is carefully analysed by the editorial board.
Process for Evaluating the Originality of Works
The editorial board of the journal analyses all instances of plagiarism and reserves the right not to allow a manuscript for review if:
- the originality of the text is over 85% – the material is accepted for review;
- the originality of the text is between 75% and 85% – the manuscript is returned to the authors for revision with a recommendation to review the textual borrowings and resubmit the article for re-evaluation;
- the originality of the text is less than 75% – the manuscript is not accepted for review.
Additionally, no more than 3% of plagiarism from a single source is permitted.
Unacceptability of Plagiarism
Plagiarism in all its forms is categorically unacceptable and is considered a violation of ethics and professional conduct, which must be taken into account in the interactions between authors, reviewers, editors, publishers, and readers. Such actions contradict the principles of Publication Ethics.
Analysis of Plagiarism Cases Post-Publication
If plagiarism is detected after the article is published, the editorial board will conduct a thorough analysis of the situation. The author will be contacted to inform them of the circumstances and to discuss the next steps.
